MONOPOL - ICE

Monopol-ICE is a custom designed board game that mimics the classic Monopoly game. This piece depicts the monopolistic market of private immigration detention centers used for housing undocumented immigrants detained by ICE.
The Geo Group INC. and Core Civic Group corporations with designated spaces on the board game are the largest private, for-profit operators of approx. 90% of immigration detention centers in the United States. Both of these corporations heavily donated to the incoming administration campaign.
The Big Beautiful Bill allocates around $75 billion of the US tax payer money for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention operations over four years.
Every property space on the board is an existing detention center owned by The Geo Group INC. and Core Civic Group. The more people are detained, the more money these corporations make.
To speak on the lack of social mobility that is offered to undocumented immigrants in this country - the dice are blank with only one dot on one side.
