War is sold to society from an early age. Boys are gifted toys of the machines of war. Kids play with these toys and accept them as if they are not copies of weapons of destruction and death…
MARK84 (AKA BLU-117) project consists of a 3D printed and painted replica of the an American 2,000-pound general-purpose aircraft bomb, the largest of the Mark 80 series. (429 kg of explosive, creates a 50-foot crater, and produces lethal fragmentation across a 400-yard radius) Sculpey, plastic bags, and twine was used to create models of childrens’ corpses. The packaging is made from a cutom printed design on cover stock and a vacuum sealed plastic blister mold.
This is meant to appear as a toy blister, one that is sold to children as play things. However, in reality, there is nothing playful about death and suffering.
